The Family-to-Family Education and Support Programs

For people unfamiliar with this course, Family-to-Family Education provides comprehensive information with regard to mental illness.  It is based on the Principles of Support and provides family members with an opportunity to reinforce coping skills, to seek emotional support and receive practical help from other family members.

The education courses and the support groups are taught and facilitated by trained NAMI family members. See our flyer: Family to Family overview.

One of the classes covers all of the major medications and treatments for all of the serious psychiatric disorders, Another class deals with community resources. It also provides a chance to network and communicate with others facing similar problems.

Check the current class schedule for the next twelve week Family-to-Family Education course.

Class is held one night a week.  Anyone interested in this twelve week education course should call the office as soon as possible because the waiting list continues to grow.

To register or to request more information, please call the NAMI of DuPage, Wheaton office at (630) 752-0066.
