Run for the Mind - Run/Walk

10K Run, 5K Run and 5K Walk

NAMI DuPage is holding the 21st annual Run for the Mind on 10/3/2009 to increase awareness about mental illness and raise funds to support education and support programs for people with mental illness and their families. Individuals or teams can register for the 10K Run, 5K Run or 5K walk. There will be refreshments, educational materials, race times and awards for top male and female finishers in different age categories. The Run for the Mind is a CARA certified race.

Participate in the run/walk, fundraise for NAMI DuPage or sponsor a friend and help:

1. Broaden public awareness of neurological brain disorders
2. Raise funds which support programs and services for families touched by mental illness

3. Reduce the stigma associated with mental illnesses

Registration on race day: 7:30 a.m. – 8:45 a.m.

All events begin at 9 a.m.

Pre-Register:

Friday, October 2 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Starbucks, Town Square, Wheaton.

All by mail/internet registration are DUE Thursday, October 1.
Registrants by mail/internet need to pick up t-shirts and race packet on race day half an hour before starting time.

Entry Fee Runners & Walkers:
$25 Internet Registration
$25 Mail In Registration
$30 Race Day Donation
$2 Discount for CARA (see below) Members

Entry fee is waived if participant exceeds $100 in pledges (please use official pledge form on back of flyer for pledges). ALL participants with pledges must register and deliver pledges onsite before the Run/ Walk or by mail to our office by September 25, 2009.
Prizes given for pledge leaders.

Awards:
Trophies are awarded to the top two male and female runners in the following categories:
14 & under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 & over.

Note: Baby Joggers, skates and dogs are not allowed in the 5K or 10K runs. Baby joggers and dogs are permitted in the walk.
