5K Run and 5K Walk

NAMI DuPage is holding the 23nd annual Run for the Mind on September, 24th 2011 to increase awareness about mental illness and raise funds to support education and support programs for people with mental illness and their families. Individuals or teams can register for the 5K Run or 5K walk. There will be refreshments, educational materials, race times and awards for top male and female finishers in different age categories. The Run for the Mind is a CARA certified race. |
Participate in the run/walk, fundraise for NAMI DuPage or sponsor a friend and help:

Broaden public awareness of neurological brain disorders

Raise funds which support programs and services for families touched by mental illness

Reduce the stigma associated with mental illnesses

Registration on race day: 7:30 a.m. – 8:45 a.m for 9:00am 5K run or walk.

Friday September 23 at Starbucks, Town Square, Wheaton.
All by mail/internet registration should be postmarked by Friday Sept 16.
Registrants by mail/internet need to pick up t-shirts and race packet on race day half an hour before starting time.
Entry Fee Runners & Walkers
$25 Internet Registration (waived with $150 dollars in pledges)
$25 Mail In Registration (waived with $150 dollars in pledges)
$30 Race Day Donation (waived with $150 dollars in pledges)
$4 Discount for CARA (see below) Members
ALL Participants with pledges must register and deliver pledges onsite before the Run/ Walk or by mail to our office by Friday Sept. 16.
Prizes given for pledge leaders.
Awards:
Trophies are awarded to the top two male and female runners in the following categories:
14 & under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 & over.
Note: Baby Joggers, skates and dogs are not allowed in the 5K or 10K runs. Baby joggers and dogs are permitted in the walk.
