NAMI DuPage will hold its the 26th Annual Run for the Mind on Oct. 11, 2014 to increase awareness about mental illness and raise funds to support education and programs for people with mental illnesses and their families. The Run for the Mind is a CARA certified race.
Participate in the run/walk, fundraise for NAMI DuPage or sponsor a friend and help:
- Broaden public awareness of neurological brain disorders
- Raise funds which support programs and services for families touched by mental illness
- Reduce the stigma associated with mental illnesses

26th Annual Run for the Mind & BBQ – Oct. 11th, 2014
NAMI DuPage is the DuPage County affiliate of the National Alliance on Mental Illness. For over 29 years, we have provided support,advocacy and education to improve the quality of life of individual with mental illnesses and their families. In the last year we touched the lives of 20,000 of our neighbors in DuPage area communities.
5K Run, 5K Walk and Kid’s Obstacle Course
Located at St. James Farm in Warrenville, IL. Discounts for CARA members and those who choose to pre-register. T-shirts and sports pack for all with paid entry. Awards for top three males and top three females in each age group: 14 & under; 15-19; 20-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60-69; and 70 & over. Kids age groupings for the Obstacle course will be 4 and under, 5-8, 9-12. Results will be posted on our website and www.cararuns.org. Special awards for participants in the Kid’s Obstacle Course.
Kicking off the Run/Walk will be the internationally famous Shannon Rovers leading the Way.

Start Time & Date
5K Run/Walk begins at 9:00 a.m. (registration opens 8:00 am) Saturday, October 11th, 2014. Kid’s Obstacle Course and Hot Dog BBQ start at 10:30.People below the age of 18 must have a guardian signature and approval.
Packet, Shirt and Bag Pick-Up
Friday evening, October 10th at Starbucks Town Square on Naperville Rd. in Wheaton from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.
Day of race walk-in registration can be completed from 7:30 to 8:45 am and the cost is $5 higher at $35 ($32 for CARA members)
First register for this event above, and then, if you would like, create a fundraising page, maybe create or join a team.
Remember to ask all of your supporters if their employers have a matching gift program. Please collect and submit all Matching Funds and Pledges on or before race day, October 11, 2014. Please have people write checks payable to "NAMI of DuPage County". You can mail in pledges to "NAMI of DuPage County", 2100 Manchester Road, Building B, Suite 925, Wheaton, IL 60187. Pledges must be received by Wednesday October 8, 2014.
